EPA Proposes Strengthening Lead and Copper Rule Requiring Water Systems to Remove 100% of Lead Pipes within Ten Years
The proposed action significantly advances removal of every lead service line in America through the Get the Lead Out Program, including investing $15 billion through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to replace lead service lines, providing technical assistance to communities, and supporting the development of a national inventory of lead service lines.

The priorities for the program are to incentivize natural hazard risk reduction activities that mitigate risk to public infrastructure and disadvantaged communities; mitigate risk to one or more community lifelines; enhance climate resilience and adaptation; and enforcement of the latest published editions of building codes.
MA MVP Action Grant Expressions of Interest Due December 15th
Because the full application requires much thought and detail in order to be competitive, towns are strongly urged to submit an expression of interest to obtain feedback that can help ensure their resulting application has a clear focus that addresses existing environmental, economic and social disparities in their community.
2023 Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Now Available from USDA
The grant will be matched up to $3,000 by the USDA for a total of $6,000 per project. Other requirements include the organization being staffed by at least 80% call or volunteer members, recognized by the fire department’s state and NIMS compliant.
