Project Example: Town of Truro Emergency Medical Services Study
Capital Strategic Solutions was brought on by the Town of Truro to conduct a study into their Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as well as the provision of EMS in the neighboring communities of Wellfleet and Provincetown. CSS was able to release a report detailing the findings, methodology and recommendations. This region is currently provided for by the Lower Cape Ambulance Association (LCAA), which as many may know is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. The study looked into current provision of EMS in all three towns, gathered data on costs, response times, staffing, and demographics to advise about concerns within Truro regarding their current contract with LCAA, and future EMS needs.
Our support included:
- Examining then-current provision of service, service effectiveness and service sustainability.
- Reviewing past studies and gathering demographic data from each community.
- Interviewing stakeholders to determine EMS apparatus and staffing.
- Gathering data, including run volumes, level of service, response times, billables and receivables.
- Analyzing current service levels and projecting future needs.
- Aggregating all data into actionable options and recommendations.
