Capital Strategic Solutions is pleased to announce that Edward D. Burman has joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager, bringing more than three decades of distinguished leadership in public safety, policing, emergency management, school safety and public health.
Ed most recently served as Chief of Police for the Wayland Police Department, where he oversaw departmental operations, personnel, budgeting, capital planning, and community engagement initiatives. His career spans senior leadership roles with the Wayland, Ashland, and Framingham Police Departments, where he developed and implemented emergency response plans, managed large-scale budgets and technology upgrades, led interagency collaborations, and worked closely with municipal leaders to enhance public safety and quality of life.
In addition to his law enforcement background, Ed is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in hospital leadership and emergency care. He played a critical role as the COVID-19 Task Force Lead for the Town of Ashland, coordinating multi-town vaccination efforts, managing clinical teams, and ensuring compliance with state public health protocols. His unique dual background in policing and healthcare brings a comprehensive, multidisciplinary perspective to complex public safety and community challenges.
