HUDSON, Mass. — Communities are often faced with numerous challenges during a time of transition. Capital Strategic Solutions (CSS) provides municipalities with seasoned professionals who ensure continuity of services and ease the burden of organizational change.

Senior Project Manager Stephen Price began providing treasury and collection support to the town of Hudson on Sept. 23, 2025. Brought in to assist the Treasurer/Collector’s Office during a period of increased workload, Price has been helping maintain timely, accurate and compliant operations. Since beginning his work in Hudson, he has focused on bringing Light and Power Department bank accounts up to date, including reconciling accounts for fiscal years 2024 and 2025. He will continue assisting the team with general fund and enterprise reconciliations and other treasury and collection tasks as needed.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a great finance team in Hudson, offer my experience and contribute to their organization,” Price said.

In addition to reconciliation work, Price provides day-to-day operational assistance within the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. His responsibilities include offering hands-on technical support for treasury and collection functions, helping streamline workflows and promoting accuracy and customer service. He is also coaching and mentoring staff to help build long-term internal capacity. Drawing on decades of municipal finance experience, he provides guidance on key operational areas such as maintaining the cashbook, preparing proofs, balancing accounts and supporting other functions identified by the town.

“I am immensely grateful for the support we have received from Capital Strategic Solution and Stephen Price,” said Hudson Town Manager Tom Gregory. With his extensive background in municipal finance, including having served as the Treasurer & Collector here in Hudson, Mr. Price was able to step in quickly to help us address a very challenging situation. He has been a valuable addition to our team and his professional demeanor has been especially welcome.”

Before joining Hudson, Price supported other communities navigating staffing transitions in their finance offices. In Greenfield, Mass., he helped the newly hired treasurer/collector become established in the role by maintaining daily operations, reconciling bank accounts, processing payroll and payables and assisting with receivables management. His support was especially valuable when the office encountered a software glitch during year-end reporting.

In Pepperell, Mass., Price served as interim treasurer/collector, overseeing treasury and collection functions while strengthening internal systems. He introduced a lockbox machine to streamline payment processing and improve efficiency, contributing to long-term operational improvements.

By delivering technical expertise and offering strategic guidance, Price helps communities maintain continuity, accuracy and strong financial practices during key transition periods. His work in Hudson underscores CSS’s commitment to empowering municipalities with the tools and knowledge necessary to operate effectively.
