New Hampshire municipalities are invited to apply for grants to enhance their recycling programs through the NH the Beautiful Recycling & Storage Equipment Grant Program. The program has recently awarded more than $33,800 in funding to various communities.
The initiative provides financial assistance to local recycling centers and transfer stations, facilitating the acquisition of essential equipment that bolsters recycling efficiency and sustainability.
Eligible items include balers, compactors, roll-off containers, and storage units designed to improve material handling and increase diversion rates. The program aims to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of local recycling operations across the state.
Grants can cover up to 20% of the equipment’s purchase price. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with reviews occurring every two months. Approved applicants have up to nine months to purchase and install the equipment and funds are disbursed as reimbursements.
