Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) is now accepting applications for Maine Trails Program grants. DACF is also offering in-person workshops to assist applicants through June 3. Maine Trails Program grant applications are due by Friday September 26, 2025.
The Maine Trails Program supports the acquisition, development and renovation of trails for outdoor recreation and active transportation. The program offers up to $7.5 million per year in grant funding to leverage $3 million in public and private matching contributions.
The program supports motorized, non-motorized, and multi-use trails across the state. The Maine Trails Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives from both motorized and non-motorized parties, ensuring transparent and proportional representation.
In-person workshops for the program will be held across multiple locations to promote the program and provide guidance on project eligibility, and application requirements. Interested persons may sign up for these workshops online.
