Reminder! Connecticut Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Application Deadline June 6
Applications for the Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program are due on Friday, June 6. Approximately $11 million in federal funding is available to support community development projects in municipalities with populations under $50,000.

- Infrastructure Improvements Supporting Affordable Housing
- Housing Rehabilitation
- ADA Compliance Upgrades
- Community Facilities Enhancements

Florida Opportunities
Florida State Revolving Fund Now Accepting Proposals from Drinking Water and Waste Water Utilities Impacted by Helene and Milton
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is now accepting project proposals from drinking water and wastewater utilities affected by hurricanes Helene and/or Milton. Funding is provided by the Supplemental Appropriation for Hurricanes Helene and Milton (SA-HMW). These federal funds are being funneled through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) and Clean Water SRF to support eligible recovery and resilience projects.
Eligibility requirements include
- Must be an SRF-Eligible entity
- The proposed project must address damage, disruption, or loss of function caused by one or both hurricanes.
- Projects should aim to reduce flood vulnerability or enhance resilience
Those with questions can attend virtual office hours Thursdays 2-3 p.m. on May 22, June 5, June 12, June 19, and June 26, 2025.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 30, 2025.

Maine Opportunities
Maine DEP Announces Increased Grant Funding for Upcoming Waste Diversion Grants
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is requesting proposals for the 2025 Waste Diversion Grants Program to support the programs that increase diversion of solid waste from disposal.
Eligible projects may include:
- Solid waste diversion education
- Source reduction
- Upcycling of discarded materials
- Donations of food or other materials
- Repair and reuse projects
- Recycling, composting and digestion
Rounds I and II have been combined with an overall amount of $250,000 available with awards ranging from $1,000 – $50,000.
Proposals must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. on June 13, 2025.

Deadline Approaching for Maine Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Applications
The application deadline for the State of Maine’s Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant awards is June 27. Administered at the federal level by the National Park Service and at the state level by the Bureau of Parks and Lands in the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, LWCF grants can provide up to 50% of the allowable costs for approved acquisition or development projects for public outdoor recreation.
- 2025 Maximum grant award = $500,000.
- No minimum award level, but applicants considering a request of $20,000 or less should discuss their project concepts with the grant manager before applying.
- LWCF grants can provide up to 50% of the allowable costs for approved acquisition or development projects for public outdoor recreation.
- Request Assistance - Eligible agencies are encouraged to contact the Grants and Community Recreation program for assistance and guidance during the application process.
Application Eligibility, Process, and Deadlines
- Eligibility - The only eligible applicants are the State of Maine, counties, municipalities, school districts, and tribal nations.
- Step 1 – Request a project eligibility assessment - This request should be made as soon as possible in order to allow enough time to complete the application. It also should be done before the municipal town meeting cycle if at all possible. Request a Site Inspection Now.
- Step 2 – Complete the application after the site inspection has been conducted and eligibility confirmed. The 2025 grant application deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2025.
- Step 3 Acknowledgement Signs Projects that are awarded funds must display acknowledgment signs in prominent locations. Download the Sign Order Form.
