The Rhode Island Department of Housing has available funding exclusively for municipalities to allocate resources to non-profit organizations for eligible activities. Organizations seeking CDBG funding must proactively reach out to local CDBG Administrators to understand priorities and application procedures.

Each year, approximately $4 to $5 million is allocated through a competitive application process. Eligible programs are those that prioritize housing, economic development, and neighborhood revitalization, strategically directing resources toward distressed areas that serve low and moderate-income residents (those earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income). All funded activities must deliver significant benefits to these individuals, ensuring that your efforts make a meaningful impact.
