The deadline for applications for the Massachusetts Municipal Energy Technical Assistance (META) grant is March 7. The grant program offers funding for independent third parties to support municipalities, regional school districts, and water/wastewater districts in the study, negotiation, development and management of clean energy projects. Although administered through the Massachusetts Department of Energy’s Green Communities Municipal Energy Technical Assistance Grant Program, the META grant does not require a Green Communities designation to apply for or receive funds.
The Department of Energy Resources (DOER) has nine technical assistance categories for eligible entities to access up to $15,000. If requesting both technical assistance and engineering documents, applicant may be eligible for up to $25,000.
Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a META award. For those applicants who previously secured META funding, a submittal of any required final reports or an assurance that all funds have been expended by January 1, 2025 is required.
Deadline for applicants is March 7, 2025, at 5 p.m. The DOER will offer responses to questions received on or before 5 p.m. EST on February 10, 2025. Applicants can expect responses by 5 p.m. EST on February 17, 2025. Learn more and apply today!
