Massachusetts municipal leaders interested in learning more about making events and meetings accessible to the public can join a free webinar on August 27 hosted by the Massachusetts Office on Disability.
The “Quarterly Tea With MOD: Hosting Accessible Events and Meetings” webinar will help state and local government entities, event planners and public venues improve accessibility for their in-person, hybrid and virtual gatherings.
The webinar, to be held from 1 to 3 p.m., will cover the following topics:

Legal obligations for making events and meetings accessible

How to select accessible event locations and online meeting platforms
-
Best practices for fulfilling reasonable accommodation requests

Tips for effective communication at events and meetings (including CART and ASL)
The webinar will include a question-and-answer session.
