Welcome to the Team, Alex!
We're thrilled to introduce Alex, our newest Project Intern at Capital Strategic Solutions! Alex joins us from American University in Washington, D.C., where she's studying Public Relations and Marketing. Originally from Massachusetts, Alex was drawn to PR and communications because of her fascination with how messaging shapes the way people understand the issues that matter most.
We sat down with Alex to learn a bit more about her journey, what she's hoping to gain from her time with us, and a few fun facts along the way.
Getting to Know Alex
What drew you to Capital Strategic Solutions?
I was drawn to Capital Strategic Solutions for many reasons, but I admire its foundation in being a woman-owned business. I also love to help people, and I know that Capital Strategic Solutions works hard to make sure their clients are getting the support that they need.
What has your first impression of the team been?
My first impression of the team was very positive. Everyone has been very welcoming and helpful. I love how collaborative the team is, because I think a supportive environment helps people do their best work individually.

What are you most hoping to take away from this experience?
I hope to acquire more skills I can take with me into future professional roles. I am excited to learn how to collaborate with both coworkers and clients, as well as develop storytelling skills to help build a brand and successfully deliver messages to the public.
What's something you're really excited to try or learn while you're here?
I'm excited to learn more about how Capital Strategic Solutions supports clients onsite as well as through public outreach, social media, and community engagement. I think onsite work would serve as a great hands-on experience for me.
What cause or issue do you really care about outside of work?
I am interested in the issue of overconsumption and how it is a leading cause of environmental degradation. It is not only an environmental issue but a social and economic one, as it enforces a short-term gratification mindset.
How would your friends describe you in three words, and how would YOU describe yourself in three words?
I think my friends would say I am passionate, thoughtful, and hard-working. I would say I am creative, reliable, and ambitious.
