Connecticut Sustainable Materials Management Grant Due Friday, June 27, 2025
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is accepting applications for the Sustainable Materials Management Round 2 (SMMR2) program. This opportunity qualifies as Municipal and Regional Grants and Technical Assistance.
The goal of this funding is to fund solid waste management programs and initiatives that reduce or divert waste and increase the state’s self-sufficiency. Programs eligible for funding should reduce Municipal Solid Waste volumes through organics diversion, unit-based pricing, organizational capacity building for recycling rates, and more.
Eligible applicants include:
- Municipalities
- Councils of Government
- Regional Waste Authorities
- Resource Recovery Agencies
- Other appropriate regional entities

Support Public Safety! COPS Now Accepting Applications for Multiple Federal Grants
The Office of Community Oriented Policing (COPS) is now accepting applications for several grant programs that support public safety. Many of these opportunities close at the end of June, or beginning of July, and all have multiple deadlines in a multi-phase application process.
Funding supports a myriad of law enforcement activities from mental health and wellness to accreditation, and drug distribution investigations.

Florida Opportunities
Resilient Florida Application Opens for Submissions July 1st
The 2025 Resilient Florida application portal will begin accepting submissions on July 1, 2025. This program is designed to invest in Florida’s communities to prepare for the impacts of sea level rise, intensified storms, and flooding along inland waterways, coastlines, and shores.
Resilient Florida grants are available to counties, municipalities, special districts, and regional entities that face these challenges. Applicants may receive funding to analyze vulnerabilities, and plan or implement projects for adaptation or mitigation.
Important dates for specific funding streams include:
- Planning projects: Applications accepted July 1 – Sept. 1, 2025
- Implementation projects to be included in the Statewide Flooding and Sea Level Rise Resilience Plan: Applications accepted July 1 – Sept. 1, 2025
- Regional resilience entities: Applications accepted July 1 – July 30, 2025

Massachusetts Opportunities
Reminder! Massachusetts Parkland Acquisition & Renovations for Communities Grant Program Applications Now Being Accepted
Applications are currently being accepted for the Massachusetts Parkland Acquisition and Renovations for Communities (PARC) Grant Program Workshops. The PARC Grant Program provides funding to Massachusetts communities for the enhancement or creation of public parks and recreational spaces. The application deadline is Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 3 p.m.
To accompany your application, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs requires an up-to-date Open Space and Recreation Plan.

Rhode Island Community Development Block Grant Closes July 1, 2025
The Rhode Island Department of Housing is accepting applications to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Affordable Housing and Housing Rehab until July 1, 2025.
The CDBG program is designed to develop communities by providing housing and expanding economic opportunity for low/moderate income communities. Every year funding is provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
