A seasoned professional with more than 40 years of experience in the water, wastewater, fleet management, and construction industries, John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is unmatched in the industry to serve our clients.
Accumulating a rich history of technical and leadership experience, John’s career is marked by significant contributions in various roles.
Here’s a brief overview of his impressive career:
As the founder of Edgewater Career Training, John has been pivotal in providing the construction industry in Massachusetts with hoisting license preparation courses and is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety for Hoisting License Continuing Education. John has been a hoisting license instructor for over 24 years and holds a hoisting license. John has conducted over 1,000 classes for hoisting license exam preparation and the required continuing education. His expertise in this area is unparalleled.
John was also the Director of Water and Sewer for the city of Somerville, Massachusetts. In this role, John successfully managed a $37 million budget, overseeing operational and capital spending. He played a key role in revenue forecasting, contract development, union contract negotiations and fleet management. His leadership ensured compliance with State DEP and MWRA standards and he was instrumental in developing construction standards and managing significant projects like the Union Square street scape and utility project.
As the Assistant Director for the city of Framingham, Massachusetts, John was responsible for managing a substantial budget and overseeing a large department. His accomplishments include coordinating with various departments, managing major utility projects, and playing a crucial role in emergency operations.
Starting as a heavy equipment operator for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, John rose through the ranks to become the Fleet Services Manager. He was responsible for a large fleet and played a significant role in managing the city’s extensive sewer and drain system.
John holds an array of certifications and licenses, including MCPPO Full Procurement Certification, FEMA IS-100 and IS-700 Certification, Wastewater Collections Systems License, Water Distribution Systems License, Hoisting License, and a CDL-B with Tanker Endorsement.
