Spring is a great time to develop a plan to enhance greenspace or improve outdoor recreation in your area. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) is offering grant funding opportunities to protect and restore natural resources.
Eligible applicants may obtain assistance with land protection initiatives that support permanent protection of vital land or approved outdoor recreational activities, planning the development or renovation of a park, or creating or updating a municipal Open Space and Recreation Plan.
Funding allocations vary between $5,000 and $60,000 depending on the use per applicant per grant round. Eligible Regional Planning Agencies and qualified 501(c)(3) land trusts may apply for funding to assist multiple eligible applicants with projects or services in one application, with a maximum award of $100,000 per applicant per grant round.
The deadline is approaching fast. Applications need to be received by April 11, 2025, at 5 p.m. Spring into action now and apply.
