In a committed effort to improve infrastructure, the Town of Acushnet contracted with Capital Strategic Solutions (CSS) to support the Town with several key initiatives to further their economic development. Through this partnership, CSS secured Acushnet with a $100,000 One Stop Grant for Community Planning. These funds are earmarked to update the Town’s Master Plan, and provide a comprehensive analysis of existing conditions, and an implementation plan to achieve the Town’s vision, to enable economic growth and housing developments.
“Capital Strategic Solutions worked with us to define the scope of services and start the process. With no professional planning staff, they were able to advise the volunteers on the planning board and have been excellent in directing us every step of the process even by being available for the planning board, selectboard, and Town Administrators’ office with a great deal of professionalism,” said Town Administrator of Acushnet, James F. Kelley, esq.
CSS acted as the consultant and chief contact with the State and Bristol County also securing ARPA funding for the Slocum Street Water Main infrastructure project. The project includes the total replacement of sidewalks, hydrants, and handicapped ramps, and the total replacement of a major water main at multiple connections. The total cost of the project is estimated at $6-6.5 million. CSS advised throughout the project to date, including the bidding, design stages, and exploring financing through the completion of the project.
These projects are ongoing, and the Town of Acushnet is looking forward to continuing their engagement with CSS to make further improvements in the community.
